RE//UNION
It wasn’t until last year that I really grasped the concept of ‘home’
It was at last years Chirstmas Eve service
The church was packed tighter than Easter.
But I brought something to attention.
There many familiar faces in the pews.
Many of them I had not seen in years.
And I realized something.
Christmas is more than a holiday (and forget the presents I knew that wasn’t the point a long time ago).
But people suppose that Thanksgiving is a time to gather and be thankful. And that’s true. But Christmas is a much better opportunity to gather. There’s more time for people to travel.
But that isn’t quite it either.
And then I realized that even the kids weren’t sitting with each other.
Eveyone was with blood and kin.
And THEN it hit me.
Thanksgiving is just the pre-party.
Christmas is truly a time to celebrate each other. (and Jesus)
There is no song to complement this. For nothing can compare to the gift of family.
